Do you always find yourself falling for the wrong girl? Do you always wonder why your relationships just don’t last? It could be because you are addicted to unhealthy relationships. We give you some of the ways in which you can break free from this addiction.

1. Know that there is a problem
The first step to finding a solution is to realize that there is a problem. It is high time you stop being in denial. Stop feeling that there must be something wrong with you and stop finding excuses for the mistakes of your partner. Take up the courage and accept that there is some problem which needs to be fixed.

2. See if you want to get rid of the addiction
They say no one can help you unless you want to be helped. Once you accept that there is a problem, make up your mind whether you want to get rid of this addiction or not. Just like it is with any other addiction, breaking-free will take immense determination. You must be sure of what you want.

3. See if there is a pattern
Try and understand what you find attractive in a girl. Is there a pattern to it? In other words, do you usually fall for a certain type of girls? Figuring out the pattern will let you know which areas you need to work on.

4. Remind yourself how the relationship is harming youYou will not be able to break-free from an addiction until you realize how badly it is affecting you and your dear ones. Try to analyze what you are saying “No” to when you say “Yes” to the wrong girl. If you are constantly unhappy with your girlfriend, then it is bound to strain your relationship with your friends and family members.

5. Stay single for a while
You need not move from one bad relationship to another. Take a break. Be single for a while. This will give you some valuable time to be alone with your thoughts and de-clutter your mind. You will be able to see your priorities more clearly and hence be better prepared for the next relationship.

6. Learn from the past
We usually fail to make our lives better because we stop learning from our past mistakes. The same rule applies to being in unhealthy relationships. Before you say “Yes” to another girl, take your time and remind yourself of your experience of the previous relationship.

7. Be selfish
It is not bad to be selfish at times and put your interests first. Do not settle for someone who makes you feel bad about yourself and does not care about your feelings and well-being.

8. Talk to your buddies
If you think you are not strong enough and need that extra little push, talk to your friends about this. They will be able to tell you what is right for you and what is not. This will help you gain some perspective.
