Who says the 40s make you old? In fact, the more you age, the younger you can be. Surprised?

1. Stay Fit, Stay Healthy
Exercise is the mantra for a healthier existence. This is especially true when you hit the 40s. Why, you ask? Because your bodily functions begin to require more care and attention. Your metabolism cases to be as great as it was two decades ago. Regular workout becomes essential not only to keep the body in good shape, but also to keep the mind fit. It is in the 40s that you are likely to start taking upon yourself the stress of managing your investments, taking care of your family’s future and worry about your career or business growth. So, peace of mind becomes crucial to obtain.

2. Indulge in Regular Sex
Easy to accomplish since you are likely to be settled in a marriage or relationship by this age, regular sex is of utmost importance in the 40s. While it is a good stress-buster, routine lovemaking also enables the endorphins to be released into the blood at more frequent intervals. This obviously keeps you feeling more energetic, confident, and stress-free.

3. Eat Well
While healthy eating habits should be part of your life as early as possible, it is especially in the 40s that you need to start taking greater care of your regular food intake. Studies reveal that 30 percent of men are likely to suffer prostate cancer when they touch the 40s. Heart diseases are also shown to become more predominant in men in their mid-forties. A balanced diet, with a healthy mix of green vegetables, fruits and low-calorie food is a must. Avoid fried and fattening food items, and drink plenty of fluids.

4. Doctor Visits
While you may not consider yourself ailing from a scary disease, it is advisable to pay regular visits to your doctor and get your health checked often. This will ensure that all bodily functions are in order and no alarm bells may be set ringing.

5. Pursue Hobbies
While you may have spent four decades of your life pushing yourself to study hard, and work even harder, the 40s are the period when you should begin to explore other areas of your life. If gardening is something that interests you, indulge in some potting and planting over weekends. Taking up dance lessons or learn to play an instrument. Not only will such activities give a new meaning to your life, they will keep you feeling mentally fit and peaceful too.

While many feel the best years of their lives are the 20s and 30s, it is actually the 40s when you truly begin to enjoy life. So, stay healthy and make the 40s a rocking period of your life!
