With the first emergence of teeth, the enamel is rendered white and over time bad lifestyle choices tend to stain it to have a yellow cast over them. Improper dental hygiene is also one of the prime causes for discolouration as cavities and cracks with time become breeding grounds for germs and food deposits.

2. Avoid the Dietary Sources of Discolouration
Foods with strong pigments are usually causal to dental discolouration. This includes foodstuff like tea, coffee, grapes, curries, wines and tobacco. The lessen direct intake of all these will considerably reduce possibilities of teeth stain. Remember to brush your teeth immediately after consuming any of the above-stated items. Drinking beverages through a straw will also minimize chances of a stain.

3. Whitening Toothpaste
Thanks to modern medicine, one can obtain visibly white teeth from the comforts of their home. Over-the-counter whitening toothpastes are pre-approved by the Dental Association of India and provide effective results with time. Using such toothpaste to brush your teeth, twice a day, will provide good results in a short span of time. The mild abrasive chemical contained in these toothpastes dissolve the chemicals on the tooth surface and clear teeth stains.

4. Dental Whitening
The best way to get stain-free white teeth is to undergo a dental whitening treatment conducted by a dentist. This treatment effectively whitens teeth and maintains its new-found shine for the longest duration possible. This treatment includes wearing braced containers containing the whitening gel and flashing UV light on the exposed braces to make the transformation last. The gel used contains a powerful-yet gentle abrasive agent called Carbamide Peroxide which is strong enough to wear down the sedimentary chemicals, but is still gentle on the teeth and gums. This process takes a couple of minutes after which one can simply brush their teeth to wash off the chemicals. As effective as this treatment is, it can be slightly taxing to one’s budget. However, once the procedure is over, one needs to stay away from pigmented foods and caffeinated beverages.

A glittering smile is the most attractive accessory to wield and by following the suggested steps you will be able to achieve that glittering smile, for good.
