Surprisingly enough, one of the most difficult tasks in planning a wedding is choosing your playlist. Fortunately, we’re here to help.
After preparing everything, from your motif to your flower girls’
baskets, there is still the issue of choosing which song to play for
your wedding dance.
If you have a superb orchestra or DJ on deck, you can worry less, but
this is your wedding! You probably want everything to go as smoothly as
possible, including your song choices.
The issue now is that there are millions of songs to choose
from–songs from different genres and periods. Never mind that you have
to check the lyrics of each and every one, so as not to offend any of
your guests. Lil’ Wayne doesn’t go well with great aunts and uncles.
Orchestra vs. DJ
There’s also the issue of how you’re going to play your music. If you
have a specific list of songs, an orchestra will be significantly more
expensive than a DJ.
For a classic wedding, an orchestra is the way to go *if it’s within
your budget*. Just make sure that you’ve found one that suits your
budget. You should also make sure they’re good enough to learn your
songs in time for your big day.
If you choose to go with a DJ, they are just as good, because they
know how to make an entrance, hype up the crowd, and choose a song that
suits the current mood. Their prices depend on their popularity and
demand. If you want to go with a celebrity DJ, for instance, you’d
better prepare your budget, because they don’t play weddings just for
kicks.
Choosing the songs for your wedding dance
If you and your partner already have a favorite song, then choosing
your first dance will be easy. If not, you have to go through thousands
of popular choices and tens of thousands of less popular ones. So, how
can you choose? Which ones do you choose? And when should they be
played? Fortunately for you, we’ve got you covered.
Here is a list of songs that you and your partner would love to dance
to. Don’t worry: we didn’t forget your guests. They’ll love these, too.
The first dance
This is your first dance as Mr. and Mrs. It doesn’t have to be
perfect in everyone’s eyes, but it should be amazing enough that you end
up getting lost in each other’s eyes as you dance.
