Endurance over Cuts
Shahid's work-outs are more stamina-building and endurance-based. While today’s generation is fixated on building six and eight-packs, Shahid insists on increasing one’s stamina and endurance. "My main aim was to build stamina and the eight-packs or six-packs are really a by-product. The aim should never be the cuts, but endurance and fitness," says Shahid. Being fit is not about having a sculpted body, so have your goals clear. Focus on building your core body strength and those biceps and six-packs will follow.
Body building is especially tough for vegetarians. Meat is clearly the biggest source of protein for most bodybuilders and, hence, can be hard for a vegetarian to pack those muscles. “The biggest challenge in front of me was getting a six-pack with a vegetarian diet. You know how it is. For building up muscles, one needs to have enough supplies of protein. Now, my body doesn’t get animal protein so I have to make up for the loss of it,” he says. Make sure you take enough protein supplements required during workout.
Motivation and Dedication
Motivation and dedication are key to fitness. Motivation provides the mind and body with the much required boost while dedication is crucial to achieve your goals. “Maintaining a six-pack is damn difficult. You need a lot of motivation and a lot of dedication for it. But thank God, I have plenty of it”, he says. You need to dedicate yourself towards building a fit body and find ways and means to constantly motivate yourself to do so. Once you have the will to devote yourself to be fit, nothing can stop you from being your fittest best.
Maintaining a proper diet is as important as the workout your doing.
