7 Tips to Stay in Touch With Old Friends

7 Tips to Stay in Touch With Old Friends buddies for life friendship

‘Friendship is a single soul dwelling in two bodies’, commented the great Aristotle. In the hustle bustle of today’s world one hardly has time to make friends and so, more often than not, the only true friendships that come to our mind are the ones we made in school or college. Letting go of such people will only lead to regret and if you have lost track of them due to worldly pressures, we give you some tips to reignite the old camaraderie.

1.Social networking sites
This is the easiest and most convenient medium to keep in touch in today’s times. Facebook, Orkut, Twitter and such other websites help us find and reconnect with old friends, even those from pre-school!

2.Letters
Writing a letter to those whom you were once close to instead of typing out an email is a more personalized way to keep in touch. You can write to them once a week or month about how your life is going and if they care enough about you, they would reply through letters as well.

3.Phone conversations
Initiate talks on the phone by dialing up the number of a long lost friend. They will be pleasantly surprised and thrilled to hear from you. From thereon you can maintain the relationship with regular calls to each other.

4.Plan a reunion
Nothing spells nostalgia as a reunion. A reunion would not only help you reconnect with old buddies but also get others to do so after many years. Organizing one as per the work schedules of all the people would be a tad difficult but the experience of meeting up once again would surely be worth it.

5.Send seasons greetings
You can be busy all year round but there is no excuse to not stay in touch or at least send seasons greetings in the form of a card during festivals.

6.Meet often
This one goes without saying. One cant properly reconnect with old time buddies until you meet them face to face. If once or twice, plans of catching up do not work out due to busy schedules, don’t stop trying. If the friendship is strong, priorities will automatically fall in place.

7.Make time
Lastly, the most vital factor in reconnecting with old friends is time. You should definitely make time for writing letters, meeting and communicating with long lost pals. Plan your work schedule in such a way that these things can be easily incorporated. Invest your free time during weekends in this instead of being a couch potato in front of the T.V.
