Everyone has a particular position in which they are accustomed to sleeping. Did you know that the sleeping position of a person can tell a lot about their personality?
There are a variety of sleeping positions and each has its pros and cons. Here are some of the most common sleeping positions:
1. The Foetus
This
is the most common sleeping position of all, in which nearly half the
human population sleeps. Even more common with women, in this position, a
person curls up on one side in the shape of a foetus. This is also not
an ideal sleeping position as it may put stress on your vital organs and
the back. It is, however, better to curl up on your right as the heart
and liver are not pressurized that way.
2. The Log
Like
the name suggests, it involves lying on one side with both the legs
straightened out and arms on the side. This stance also puts extra
pressure on your face and may fasten the appearance of wrinkles.
However, it is beneficial for people who suffer back pain.
3. The Yearner
This
sleeping position involves sleeping on one side with both the arms
extended out in the same direction. Whilst this position may be good for
your spine, it may cause problems like acid reflux. People who tend to
sleep in this position are more likely to be cynical and suspicious.
4. Soldier
This
sleeping position involves lying on your back with both the arms at the
sides. A mark of reserved, quiet and people of high standards, this
position can however cause a person to snore. Not the most ideal
sleeping position, this position can increase the risk of a variety of
diseases.
5. The Freefall
When somebody sleeps on their stomach with their head turned to one side and arms up and around the pillow, then that sleeping position is called freefall. This style is good for people who snore and also claimed to be good for digestion. However, you may suffer from neck and back pain and also wrinkles on face, as a result. Nearly 7% people sleep in this position and are mostly brazen and extroverted.
6. Starfish
Like the ‘Soldier’, this sleeping position also involves lying on your back but with your arms over your head. This sleeping position can also make people more prone to snoring and other breathing problems. Starfish sleepers are good listeners and always ready to help which also makes them good friends.
These six sleeping positions cannot possibly accommodate all the creative and bizarre sleeping positions of some people. The ideal sleeping position, which almost nobody sleeps in, is sleeping on your back with your head raised up a little and hands in your lap.
